ADVANCED ULTRASOUND-GUIDED FACIAL FILLER TECHNIQUES WITH HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is widely used in aesthetic biomedicine due to its biocompatibility, water-retention capacity, and effectiveness in restoring facial volume and contour. However, facial filler procedures involve potential risks, particularly those associated with the facial vascular anatomy. In this context, ultrasonography has emerged as an important complementary tool, enabling real-time visualization of anatomical structures and contributing to greater safety and precision during procedures. The present study is an integrative literature review aimed at analyzing scientific evidence regarding the use of ultrasonography in facial filler procedures with hyaluronic acid. Articles published within the last ten years were included from the PubMed, SciELO, Embase, and Google Scholar databases. The findings indicate that the association between HA and ultrasound improves the planning, execution, and monitoring of procedures, reducing the risk of complications such as vascular occlusions and nodule formation. Furthermore, ultrasonography assists in personalizing techniques according to the individual characteristics of each patient. It can be concluded that the integration of these approaches represents a significant advancement in facial harmonization, promoting greater safety, efficacy, and clinical predictability.
